Women's Conference 2008

We have had an awesome week this week. Rick and Sharon Stangler have been with us as our guest speakers for the Women's Conference. The theme for the conference is "Go and Tell" based on John 20:17. All week long the Word has been preached the women have been equipped to go and tell. Every service we have seen the Spirit move in many ways. Women have been healed, set free from strongholds, and baptised in the Holy Ghost. It has truly been refreshing to see the Lord moving in their lives this week. We will finish the conference up this weekend. Please continue to pray for the women as the Lord touches them by the Holy Ghost!

Shawn does it again!

Now for something completely different. As you may know from our emails things are changing here in the islands. Electricity rates are up over 50 percent and cost of living continues to increase. That does not even phase us. We are in the kingdom of God and He takes care of all of our needs. We have the victory here in the pacific and the Gospel of Jesus will continue to be preached.
Well a few months ago Shawn and I decided to start preparing for anything that might happen. So we built a Marshallese style cook house. As you can see we now use propane to cook with and do everything outside the house. We also have a grill that we use as well. The fuel is not charcoal but coconut husks. Shawn likes to bake and it is something that she really likes to do. Well with moving to the new cook house the electric oven was out. So the problem was, how do we bake with no electric oven?
We began researching solar and propane ovens, and what would be the next step in the process of getting away from electricity for baking. In the mean time Shawn goes on the internet and finds a solution. By taking a card board box and lining it with foil she can use it as an oven over the grill. Amazing! The first experiment was baked chicken, it came out great! Here are a couple of pictures of Shawn making meat loaf in a cardboard box, it was cooked evenly and tastes great. Shawn continues to find ways to be flexible and adapt. God by His Spirit is constantly giving her ideas on new ways of doing things. Not only in ministry but in the home! God is so good and all the time God is good. Be blessed and have a great day.

Ebeye CAs on the way Home

Yesterday some of the youth started on their way back to their home atoll. The youth are from Ebeye and the ship is the way home. It is amazing to me what these young people do to learn more about Jesus. It takes two days to come from Ebeye to Majuro. It takes two weeks to come from Utrik to Majuro via ship. There are no cabins, stewardess or food served. They sleep on the deck of the ship and eat the food that they can carry. They do all of this to come together to worship the Lord and hear the Word of God preached.
Yesterday part of the youth from Ebeye started on their way back. Please keep them in prayer as they travel. As we said goodbye on the deck we laid hands on them and prayed. Many just wanting to be a greater witness in that place everyday. It is so awesome to see the passion for Jesus that will change a nation.
We are now planning a trip to the farthest northern atolls. In the month of October I will travel via ship to Utrik atoll in the north. I will be gone four to five weeks on this trip. We will visit many atolls on the way and preach the Gospel to those that live in the outer most reaches of the Marshall Islands. We of course will carry our supplies with us. Everything has to be light weight and compact, space on the ship is very limited for travel. So outdoor supplies are needed for the trip. If you would like to help please contact me at rikakisteve@gmail.com or clarkmvimi@yahoo.com
In the midst of an every changing world the Gospel is still being preached, people are being set free and filled with the Holy Ghost. Living by the Faith is always an adventure in God! Be blessed in all that you do and may you prosper even as your soul prospers.

Baptized in the Lagoon!

One of the things that we love to see is people giving their lives to the Lord. Yesterday we had over eighty young people get baptized in the lagoon. Nothing fancy just the lagoon and the people of God celebrating their new birth in Jesus. More souls into the Kingdom of God. Praise the Lord! Thank you for all of your prayers and support. Be blessed and have an awesome day in Jesus.

Youth Conference Update

Youth Conference Update
On Saturday Doctor Murphy Hanley arrived in Majuro for the 2008 Full Gospel Youth Conference. Sunday night the conference started with many dignitaries in attendance to include the President of the Marshall Islands. The first message of the conference was broadcast on the government radio station. All of the islands heard the message that night of encouragement. Doc Murphy took time to encourage the people to pray for their leadership and then prayed for the leadership that was attendance. Every day the Word has been preached and the Holy Ghost has been moving.
Lives are being changed by the Spirit and God is certainly using Doc to do it. We thank God for him obeying the Spirit and coming to the Marshall Islands at this time. We take time to thank his wife Glenda and his family for allowing him to come. We also thank Winter Haven Worship sending him. Thank God for people who follow the leading of the Holy Ghost. The theme of the youth conference this year is “Quench not the Spirit” (I Thess 5:19). Take some time this week to pray for these last days of the conference. Be blessed in all that you do in the name of Jesus.
