Cathy Bentley Back in Islands

Here is a picture of Cathy Bentley and her daughter Catie. Many of you know Catie has been with us for over three months working here in the Marshalls. This is a picture of mother and daughter back together. Praise the Lord! This is Cathy’s sixth trip to the Marshalls. Every time that she comes she makes an impact on the disciples in CTC and the churches here in the Marshall Islands. So we say to Cathy, Yokwe and welcome back!

Scooter Men

In a land where everything is brought in by ship things can be expensive. Gas here is now over $7.00 a gallon. Our gas prices do not fluctuate with the market. It really depends on what it costs when the shipment is loaded on to the ship bringing it here to the Marshall Islands. Well here is a picture of Travis and Stephen already doing their part to save gas and cut operational expenses. They are both using scooters to go to work and school. Not pictured are me and my scooter. At this point by using scooters we have cut our operational budget by $600.00 a month. This is now used to preach the Gospel and get much need resources to the people here. It also will help to keep our radio station on the air.
I want to make one point perfectly clear. We here in the Marshall Islands are not defeated or living in lack. Our God supplies everything we need to accomplish the vision and mission here in the Pacific. What we are doing is called “Stewardship”. Plain and simple! Every seed that is sown into this ministry is used to further the Kingdom of God. We are just finding ways to help divert every seed into a place that will produce fruit. When the world changes we are flexible, we adapt and we always overcome in the name of Jesus. The world’s economy may change but God never changes and He will always give us the victory as we walk with Him. Thank you for all of your faithful prayers and support. May God bless you even as your soul prospers!

Seawall is Progressing

God is so good. Here are a couple of pictures of the seawall in progress. Somebody is saying right now, “I have been wondering about that”! Well here in the Marshall Islands everything comes in by ship. Cement, rebar and even tie wire. The only thing that is not shipped in is gravel and sand. That has to be made here on island and there is only one company that does it. So they have to make the sand, then gravel and then they have to make the bricks. By the way just for your information a truck load of sand or gravel, twelve cubic yards is $695.00 a load!
Well praise the Lord the bricks were delivered and last week we started building the wall. All of our workers are Christians, a mixture of Marshallese, Kosraen and Fijian brothers in the Lord. It is so awesome that we can provide them with jobs to help us complete this project. When working on a sea wall we have to work with the tide as it comes in and out. While the tide is out, footers have to be dug, rebar placed in the coral and blocks laid. It is a constant moving process when the time is right.
Please continue to keep this project in prayer. We want to thank Missionary Ventures International for helping with this project. We also want to thank a couple of special donors who also came along side to help us (you know who you are). The next project is the battery room for our alternate power setup. We will need additional support to help complete that project. I will write more about that in the next post. We want to thank all of you for all of your continued prayers and awesome support. May God continue to bless you in all that you do for the Kingdom. Be blessed.

An Awesome Month

This month has been filled with the Word of God and the power of the Spirit. All month long we have seen the Spirit move in fantastic ways. People have been healed, set free and filled with the Spirit. It is so touching to the see God touch people’s lives. Many of the youth and women traveled great distances by ship just to get here. Some spending ten days on board ship just to come and hear the Word of God.
Others traveled from Hawaii and the United states to come together here in the Marshall Islands. Yes there are Marshallese in the U.S. and they have many Marshallese churches there. These ladies made the trip here to get together with other Marshallese to hear the Gospel and worship the Lord. I am always so amazed at their dedication to the Lord. They all prayed and fasted about the conferences and God certainly did not turn a deaf ear. They acted in Faith and an awesome God came and touched them.
In the middle of a state of emergency these men of women of God just believe. Their faith has not changed as a matter of fact it keeps growing. The kingdom is still being built and God is moving forward here in the Marshall Islands. It’s not about things and what they have, it is about serving a mighty living God. Be blessed and enjoy the pictures. God bless you in all that you do!
