Reconstruction Progress

Good day from the islands. Here is a few more pictures from the inside of the school. Reconstruction is in progress. We are totally reframing the inside, treating the wood as we go. It is hard to believe that a month ago everything looked okay and school was in progress. No worries though, the crew is on the job and we will be ready on 5 January. In the name of Jesus we will not be stopped. We want to give the Lord praise because already $1000.00 has come in for the repairs. We had posted that we needed $2040.00 to get the job done. Within 48 hours 1000.00 was committed. We thank God because we know that the rest is on the way. Seawall repairs are on hold while we get the school back online. We thank God that it is holding and can wait.
We thank God for faithful supporters who have been partnered with us to spread the Gospel throughout the islands. All the parts for the radio station have arrived and the plan is to be on the air again next week. Nothing will stop the vision or the plan of God. We are running in faith and victory all of the way. If you would like to help with the repairs please email us at rikakisteve@gmail.com
Be blessed and may you prosper even as your soul prospers!

Rejoice and again I say Rejoice!

Here are a few pictures of the inside of our main classroom. Some days you rejoice and today is one of those days to rejoice in the Lord, I thank God that no matter what happens God is still in control. It is always a great day to live by faith. Yesterday in a teacher's meeting Pastor Apet told Shawn there was a problem with the ceiling. This morning we went in and there was a definite bow in the ceiling. We asked Thor our maintenance man to check it out. As he began to check the ceiling it began to fall and these pictures are the result. We have lost 1/3 third of our ceiling in the main classroom, two days before Christmas!
Well it is not a time to draw back but to push forward because we work for the King. Things like this happen you just learn to rejoice no matter what. The main A/C went in the house, main motor, A/C went out in our teacher's area and the school roof began to leak on one end and we had to reroof that part. So, are we falling apart? No we are standing in faith for everything we need to repair it. We do not see the problem we see the solution. We have until January 5th to get it done and it will be done in the name of Jesus and school will go on! Please agree with us today for the resources to do these repairs. Thank you for you faithful prayers and support. Be blessed.

ACA Christmas Program

Last week on December 19th we had the last day of school and the Christmas celebration. After a week of tidal surges and just all kind of things happening Friday we celebrated Jesus. Shawn and the teachers put together an awesome program. Full of music, the word of God, costumes and props. We did it island style but I have to tell you it was great.
The costumes were made locally and Thor made the props. The kids were great and the parents were blessed. In our school all of our staff are save and filled with the Holy Ghost. They on a daily basis are a witness to these young people. However on nights when we have programs the parents get to hear the Gospel. We love it any time we can share about Jesus! Even though we are a Christian school not everybody is a Christian. It is the same with the parents, some are and some aren’t so it is truly a joy to be able to share Jesus with them.
In the middle of high tides, blackouts, brown outs, food shortages and high prices the Gospel still goes forth. Thank you as always for your prayers and support.

Tidal Surges in the Pacific!

Last week was an unusual week of higher than normal tides. Many homes were damaged and the streets were filled with debris. Coral, rock and of course trash covered the streets of Majuro. Two houses that we know of on Majuro were destroyed. Seawalls around the island suffered damage and one collapsed. As you can see in the pictures our seawall certainly took a pounding. It sustained minor damage, but we can repair it and will.
Certainly if the seawall had not been in place we would have suffered a lot of damage here on the compound. About 300 hundred here on Majuro are now homeless. They have been taken in by churches, relatives and friends but are searching for ways to repair the damage. The high tidal surges were caused of course by the moon but also influenced by a low pressure system to the north.
Similar to a tropical storm. This just magnified the already normal high tides here. We praise God for no loss of life here on Majuro. We are still getting reports about the outer islands but are confident that all is well there. These high tides affected islands all over the pacific. The damage was not limited just to the Marshalls. Please continue to pray for the Marshalls and all of the people of the pacific. Be blessed and thank you for all of your prayers and support.

Black Out Time but We Have Light!

Over the last couple of weeks we have had several blackouts. They can be a little unsettling for some people but we have gotten used to them. Based on some blessings that are coming in we will soon be off grid and on solar/wind power. Praise the Lord. Last night when the power went out we had light! In the picture above you see a head lamp, two LED flashlights and rechargeable batteries. A few months ago we put out that one thing we can really use here is flashlights and the LED lights give us the longest use per battery. One family heeded that message and the package literally came in yesterday! Praise the Lord, God is always right on time. The flashlights and headlamp came with batteries ready to go...... So when the power went out we had light.
We think so many times to bless someone it has to be in dollars. For us it is the simple things that keep us going. Flashlights, food, worship CDs, and good books are all things that help us here in the islands. I thank God for all of you and your faithful prayers and support. Be blessed in all that you do and thank you!

The Garden is Growing!

Here a few shots of the garden. Corn is coming up, beans, squash and tomatoes. God is certainly blessing the garden. A big thank you to all who sent seeds and helped us get it going. Soon we will have fresh vegetables. Praise the Lord. We also have bananas and papaya trees growing. Thanks again for all of your help. May you prosper even as your soul prospers.

Thank you Winter Haven Worship Center!

Here is a couple of pictures of Thor (Thurson Langu), his wife Miana and their new baby. Her name is Masae-Mery Langu.
Good morning. We wanted to take a moment to thank the people of Winter Haven Worship Center for blessing this family. A little while back we asked for baby clothes to be donated for this young family. Murphy Hanley and his wife Glenda took it to task and gathered clothes for young Masae. The blessing was overwhelming is so many ways. We wanted to take a moment this morning to thank the Hanley family, Pastor Jeff and all of Winter Haven Worship Center for making this possible. Also thanks Mom and Dad for taking care of the shipping. The smiles were awesome, I can tell you that.
Thor works for us here at the school on the grounds. He is a Kosraen and has graduated from the Assembly of God Bible school here on Majuro. Here is currently saving his money to return to Kosrae and start a church. Please keep Thor and his family in your prayers and once again thank you for blessing them..

Trip to Ebeye

We just returned from an awesome trip on Ebeye atoll. Just to let you know a little about Ebeye. It is about the size of an airport runway and as wide. It is home to between 17 to 18 thousand people living very close together. There are water problems, electricity problems and basically it is a very hard place to live. Many of the people that live there work on Kwajalien atoll and travel by ferry there everyday to work. Now they are beginning to feel the crunch economically as jobs are beginning to be cut there.
In the middle of all this Ebeye Full Gospel Church is growing. It is always humbling to work with the pastors here in the Marshalls. Men like Pastor Ronald Matthew (head of the Full Gospel Churches) who have a vision to reach the lost at any cost. The church on Ebeye is pastored by Pastor Anwi Morris and his wife Wendy. They are a powerful Holy Ghost team. I landed there on Saturday and was scheduled to minister Sunday morning, Monday and Tuesday night.
As we ministered together Sunday morning the Holy Ghost began to move and the schedule changed. We ministered twice on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday nights. Monday through Wednesday we had morning devotions together at Pastor Anwi's house (it was packed). We saw lives changed, people saved, healed and set free by the power of God. This church is a church of prayer, they currently have four prayer groups praying six days a week. Every morning at four in the morning they start. Because of this ferverent prayer the Spirit of God is moving.
The church is growing in the middle of a hard place. The Kingdom of God is moving forward. It was an honor to minister there. Please keep all of the Pastors here in the Marshalls in your prayers. They and their churches are hungry for the Spirit of God and the Spirit is moving! Be blessed in all that you do and thank you for all of your prayers and support.
