Rescuing Churches in the Outer Islands!

In the picture on the bottom left is Pastor Deek from Arno, Arno. On the right is a picture of Jammey and Waston James assistant pastors on Arno, Arno. Waston and his wife were disciples in CTC. They are currently pastoring on Arno, Arno while Pastor Deek is off island getting medical care for his wife. I know that the title of this post is a little unusual but it points to what is happening on the outer islands. In the pictures in the middle you see an empty church. This building has not been used for years because there has been no pastor there. The people of Arno, Arno recently gave this building to Pastor Deek to use for a church. We are seeing the Arno church begin to grow as the Spirit of God is moving there. It is sad to say but there are many church buildings in the outer islands but very few pastors.

What is happening? Pastors are leaving or quitting the ministry. They become discouraged and come back to Majuro. You see outer island life is not easy for a pastor. The Full Gospels are working to fill in the gaps and hold the line. We are receiving calls and messages from the outer islands to come and bring a pastor. CTC is moving forward to fill that need. Our goal is also to get to the outer islands and support the local pastors there. For many years there has not been a move of the Spirit. We are preparing and positioning men and women of God who have the call of God on their lives to take the move of the Spirit back to the outer islands. As I posted before Likiep has lost their pastor and have called us for help. We have a couple ready to go and fill the gap. Now it is a matter of putting the funds together and a team to go. Since that post two more atolls have contacted us asking us to come! What will we do? We will go in the power of the Spirit and rescue those who need help.

Many of these churches have stopped being supported by their denominational churches. We thank God everyday that the Full Gospel Churches support their pastors! They are also planting new churches on the outer islands. In our last post we requested help for our outreach to Arno Arno and Langnaar. Within in a few hours the need was met. Family Worship Center in Virginia (Pastor Eddie Trayers) partnered with us meeting the transportation need. Praise the Lord! Now we are planning more trips into the outer islands with our disciples from CTC.

We have two more trips that we are planning at this time. The trip after Arno is a trip into Wotje. The Lord has really opened a door here. Everything we tried to charter wanted about 5,000 dollars to make the trip. We just finished talking with the owners of the Northern Star and they will do it for 1,800 round trip. That is for 30 passengers plus cargo. Praise the Lord, God always makes a way. This trip is planned for the third week of May. So now we are believing God to provide the funds again for transportation. Wotje is about 250 miles north of us. Pray and believe with us for this need, we know He will provide. Where there is vision there is provision!

Sometime after Wotje, we will take a trip to Likiep to do outreach and support the local church there. This will be a small team and we are still putting together our cost estimate. If you would like to help out with our trip to Wotje in May please email us at:

We want to take a moment to thank Darrell and Donnia Alexander from Lake Hamilton, Florida. They sent these CB radios for our work here in the islands. Thank you so very much. We will check them out and then get them to the pastors and churches that can use them. If you would like to help us in this area please contact us at rikakisteve@gmail.com

Arno Missions Trip! Need has been met!

THIS NEED HAS BEEN MET! PRAISE THE LORD FOR HIS FAITHFULNESS!

Good morning,
God is good and is certainly moving by His Spirit around the world. We have an off island missions trip coming up in April. The entire CTC class and I will be going to Arno Arno and Langnaar. We will be working with children, youth and adults. The focus is evangelism and building up the local church. We will also be taking much needed food and supplies to the people there. There are thirty disciples going on this trip with myself. We have worked out our transportation cost with a local boat here in Majuro. For $900.00 we can take everyone round trip! This is a great price on a steady boat that will haul our disciples as well as cargo. We need your help and support. The disciples have done a great job in raising funds for the churches there. The last hurdle to cross is the transportation cost. We know that God will provide through His people to make this mission happen.
The trip is from 14 April to 22 April. If you would like to help us on this trip all donations need to be in by 30 March 09. Please pray and see what God would have you do. Most importantly please pray for us as we take the Gospel and the Spirit to the outer islands. We are moving forward with what God has told us to do. Bring the fire to those that have been forgotten! If you would like to help us please contact us! Be blessed in all that you do and may you prosper even as your soul prospers.

Upcoming Mission Trips

As the spring is coming up we are in the process of planning several trips to the outer islands. The Lord spoke to our hearts last summer and told us that this year we needed to focus on the outer islands. I came to the disciples and let them know what the Lord had spoken to me. Since then I have been to Ebeye and Wotje and seen the power of God move there. People being healed and set free by the power of God. Both of those trips were just myself and a couple of people. The disciples have been steadily raising funds for our trips to the outer islands. We currently are planning five trips over the next few months.
These trips are to help the pastor there through evangelism, preaching and teaching. I am not the main speaker but it will be the disciples that are doing the work. We have divided our team into children, youth and adults and will be ministering to the whole community. They will be going house to house sharing the good news of Jesus Christ, laying hands on the sick and casting out devils. We are going to the outer islands in the power of the Spirit led by the Holy Ghost. I asked the class to sign up if they wanted to go with me. All of them, thirty disciples said we will go with you.
Many of these trips will be by ship. Sleeping on the deck of a ship in open ocean yet they have counted the cost and want to come. In some places there may be an opportunity for them to stay and start a church. Without hesitation they have said if the Lord needs us there we will stay. One of the atolls I have not been to yet is the atoll of Likiep. For two years now I have thought and prayed about that place. Sunday morning the Lord spoke through a Word of prophecy to one of the disciples. He then stood and told us that his father had contacted him from Likiep. The church there is closing and they need someone to come. He had heard about our ministry and CTC. He asked his son when can they come we need them now. This disciple and his wife have a call of God on their lives. They both are preachers already. Standing before the church on Sunday morning he told the church that when we go there he and his wife will stay and start a church. Praise the Lord! What passion and dedication to the things of God. Willing to give it all to serve the Lord.
Would you like to help us reach the outer islands? Right now we are planning trips to Arno Arno, Langnaar, Utrik, Wotje, Ebeye and Likiep. We need your help in prayer and in support. Please pray and see what the Lord would have you do. Some of these places are only reachable by boat. Many of them the churches have closed because the pastor got discouraged and gave up. We are raising a generation to go back to the outer islands to reach a forgotten people. Will you stand alongside us and help us go? All of your gifts are tax deductible. If you would like to be a part of what God is doing here in the Marshall Islands please contact us at:
Thank you so much for all of your faithful prayers and support!

Outer Island Needs!

Many times I am asked "what can we help you with"? Today I want to highlight just a few of our needs here for the outer islands. In one of our last posts I pointed out the need for CB radios. Another number one need is the Word of God. Because Marshallese is only spoken here in the islands there is not a big demand for Marshallese bibles. They come in sporadically and very rarely does someone do a printing for the Marshallese. However most of this generation read english and understand what they are reading. Of the one hundred young people in Pastor Will's church, less than 20 percent have a Bible they call their own. Most of the time the Bibles are shared and passed around. However when the summer time comes and when they go back to their home atolls, many return without a Bible. On Ebeye we have the same problem, a lack of Bibles. Even in CTC, because our class is growing we need fifteen study bibles for our disciples. With that said we need two hundred and fifteen (215) English translation bibles. If you would like to help us with this please contact us and we can tell you how you can plant the Word here in the Marshall Islands.
Also we need parts for the engine on the boat at Wotje. As many of you know a boat is a valuable resource here in the islands. Boats take care of the transportation and are used to fish and gather food. The boat pictured above is the boat at Pastor Will's church. It needs a power pack, iginition system and a pull rope. It is a 40hp, 2 cycle Yamaha engine, if you can help out in helping us to repair this engine please contact us. This boat is a vital part of the ministry on Wotje. Finally we need musical instruments. As you can see in the picture we use a simple keyboard for our music when we have power. We are in need of an electric guitar and an electric bass for Ebeye. We can also use acoustic guitars for the outer islands. If you would like to help out in any of these areas please contact us at Rikakisteve@gmail.com As always we want to thank you for all of your faithful prayers and support. Be blessed and have an awesome day in Jesus!
