The kingdom of God is always moving forward. Change is a part of the kingdom, and we at a moments notice, must be ready for change. Since coming to the Marshall Islands, Shawn and I have certainly learned what change is. From day to day we have learned to adapt and be flexible in a very flexible environment. No day is ever the same on the mission field.
Over the years, we have seen our ministry expand. We have done things and seen God do things that we never thought possible. We came to follow the call, to do certain things, but we have seen God lead us on to new challenges. Walking with God is always an adventure. Last year, Shawn and I were able to come back together and rest. Thanks to Drew and Sarah Pitts we were able to launch into something new.
While back, the Lord spoke to both of us to begin pastoring here in Majuro, mainly to the English speaking community here on island. We will still continue to work with the Marshallese, but a new phase is beginning. Once we returned, wheels began to turn and doors opened to pastor at Majuro English Assembly. We were so honored to become the pastors there. As we have written before, nine different nations attend our church. Glory to God!
Since coming to Majuro, several nations to our south have been on our heart. Nauru, Kiribati and Tuvalu and other pacific islands nations have been in our prayers. Over the years, this has never left our Spirit, and we knew one day we would travel to the south. Praise the Lord! That time has come. Through the members of our church we have begun to make connections with other island nations. Just yesterday, another connection was made with a pastor from Nauru. The doors are opening and we are going to the nations.
On the 29th of May, I will leave Majuro on my way to Brisbane, Australia. On 1 June, I will fly to Honoria, Solomon Islands, and spend one week there spying out the land and establishing connections with indigenous Pastors. The on the 8th of June, I will fly to Port Vila, Vanuatu, for a week also making local connections to pastors there. We will then return to Majuro, via Nadi, Fiji and Tarawa, Kiribati. God is so good, and we are excited about the new connections that are being made by the Spirit here in the Pacific.
We are not leaving the Marshalls islands. We believe ,that through these connections, that Marshallese and members of MEA will take teams all over the pacific with the Gospel with signs and wonders following. This is the last days. Now, is the time for the harvest!
God has already blessed us with one third of funds needed for the trip. We are believing God for $2000 more for this trip for lodging and travel expenses. If you would like to give toward this trip, please go to our web site at www.missionary-ventures.org and click on the "get involved" page. That page will take you to where you can give online. If you do give, please email us and let us know at rikakisteve at gmail.com, or if you just want more information on how to give.
Most of all, we covet your prayers and thank God for all of your faithful prayers and support. You are truly our partners in the Gospel here in the pacific!
Running with the Vision,
Steve, Shawn, Richard, Stephen, Terina and Kanani
