Great Week!

Last week was certainly a great week. Of course they are all good when you are serving the Lord! Shawn put out on Facebook that the hospital was short of Tylenol, Ibuprofen and just general over the counter stuff. So many have told us they stuff is on the way, praise the Lord! However, within 48 hours we had a donation ready to go. Tylenol was given by one donor and Bayview Baptist Church sent a duffel bag full of stuff on United from Guam! Glory to God! On Tuesday we immediately took is to the Ministry of Health. Ayako Yamaguichi-Eliou the hospital administrator recieved it on behalf of the hospital. It did my hear good to see the response and to get something right away.

Over the years we have always over the counter stuff here in the islands. We mainly pass these supplies out to our outer island pastors. Just his year, Family Worship Center in Virginia sent two huge suitcases full of supplies. They blessed so many people on the outer islands. It was a huge blessing. Over the counter medication is very expensive here and many times the hospital runs out. The outer islands are constantly out of supplies. Many children and adults are in a great need of simple over the counter meds. If you would like to help out in this area please contact us at rikakisteve@ gmail.com

The rest of the week was busy and getting ready for the 12th Anniversary of Majuro International English Church, (MIEC). On Saturday the church was busy decorating and I got to replace the church pump. Typical life in Majuro. Between rust and use things wear out. We thank the Lord that we were able to get a new pump and get it installed. Praise the Lord!

Sunday was a full day of praise, worship, the Word and food. We were joined by two other churches, Praise Assembly pastored by Telja Anni and Christian Missionary Fellowship with Pastor Jiuta! It was a packed church inside and out.

Pastor Telja gave an awesome message and the service was filled with songs by everyone. Glory to God! We look forward to what God will do in the upcoming year!

Shawn and I want to thank all of you who faithfully pray for us and support us in so many ways. You are truly our partners here in the work. May God bless you in all that you do... Have a blessed day..

Busy Busy!

The last couple of weeks have really flown by. Services at MIEC have been great, thank you Lord and the kingdom of God is being built. Two weeks ago we handed out 21 Bibles to the people. One of them way my Bible. It is awesome to know that people still want to hold the Word of God in their hand. We are now on a a series called "Living in the Kingdom"! We are working through Matthew 5, 6 and 7 and talking about what people in the Kingdom are called to do. It is time that we as the church around the world get back to Kingdom business! What is that you might ask? It is reaching the lost with the good news, setting them free, bringing healing and restoration in the name of Jesus!

Our Children's department is doing awesome. We are currently averaging about 65 to 80 children a service. We are now using two areas for the children. One is our new area for the older kids and the other is an area we have setup for pre schoolers! Glory to God! Families continue to bring food to feed the children every Sunday morning! There is even enough food being brought that the youth and adults are eating as well. Praise The Lord! In the midst of a down economy Kingdom people still give and you know what? God blesses the seed that they sow and multiplies it! You can not out give God! We thank God for the family of God who prove this principle every Sunday!

Please pray for the Marshall Islands. We have had several ship delays lately. This has delayed food and fresh produce into the islands. The shelves literally were empty for a couple of weeks. The ships were delayed for various reasons. The big problem is, anything perishable because of the delays are lost because of spoilage. We thank God that last weekend on time containers arrived and produce came in. They do at times do fly in produce but the price is higher for that. Prices here for food are already very high! Please agree with me for on time ships to the Marshalls.

Another area we would like for you to pray about is transportation here in the islands. Because of fuel cost and lack of funds ships are delayed in going to the outer islands. On top of that Air Marshalls Islands continues to have problems keeping their planes in the air. Yesterday, the Dash 8 aircraft was flying once again. I also got the good news that an avionics technician is now on the job. Praise The Lord!

Most of the issues revolve around parts and funding. Please agree with us that the right decisions will be made in government and reliable transportation will be available for the people of the Marshall Islands. Without these forms of transport many are stranded that need supplies and medical help! God is a miracle working God!

I want to thank you all as always for your faithful prayers and support. Living in a remote area of the world is a challenge. We thank God for His grace and for you who stand along side us. God bless you and have a great day in the name of Jesus!

High Tides In Majuro!

Yesterday and last night Majuro was hit with high tides once again. The roads were flooded and yards filled with trash and debris. The road on the way back home last night was flooded but Richard and I made it home okay. There are supposed to be high tides for the next couple of days. We have been told that lasty night was the peak. God is so good, no one injured to our knowledge at this time.

In the discussions of climate change around the world many overlook what is truly happening. Atoll nations through the pacific know what rising sea levels mean. As for Shawn and I here in the Marshall Islands we are seeing it first hand. As the world continues to look at the natural causes we look at it as for what it really is, the earth is in travail. Jesus is coming soon and the signs predicted in God's Word are coming to pass.

Now more than ever we need to reach the lost at any cost. I urge you today, make sure you heart is right with God! It is not the time to hold back but we must declare from the house tops Jesus is coming soon. Support your pastor, outreaches and those in ministry wherever they may be! Get involved in building the kingdom today, tell someone about Jesus each and everyday.

Please keep us in prayer here in the Marshalls as we pray for you. Pray for the Marshallese and the pacific nations that they may be reached with the Gospel! I have posted a link to a video of the travel home last night. Take time to look at it and share it with your friends and family. God bless and may you prosper as you follow Jesus.

What's Going On!

Good day from the Marshall Islands. It has been a busy few weeks and many changes going on. Shawn and Stephen are now back in the states. Shawn is there for medical and Stephen is making the transition to stateside living. Shawn had surgery just over a week ago and everything went perfect. She was up quickly and walking within hours of the surgery. She has not had any major pain or had to take anything but motrin for what little discomfort is there. Praise The Lord for His healing power. We also want to thank all of you for praying and agreeing with us during this time.

Stephen is in the process of getting everything setup there in the states. Getting his driver's license, a job, place to stay and get settled in. It will be a big challenge going from island life to living back on the mainland. Once he is established Terina and the kids will follow. Please keep them all in your prayers during this time of separation. Also agree with us for a job and everything else to line up quickly. We serve a mighty God and He is more than enough. Shawn and Stephen would love to hear from you if you are in Florida or whevever you are. Shawn will be there until the 2 of December.

While Shawn is away, Richard and I are holding down things here in Majuro. Of course without my partner here with me the challenges are there. Richard is doing well in school and our K -8 school has a wonderful staff fully capable of handling things during Shawn's absence. However, I get to deal with school paperwork, shopping and the other many areas that Shawn deals with on a daily basis. I need your prayers! I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Of course as we have learned a long time ago absence draws your closer.

We also want to take this time to make you aware of some needs here for the ministry and the church. Seven years ago we installed wind generators and batteries as alternate power. When the new school was built solar was installed for that building as well. Over the years our inverters have been overcome by the salt and the main battery for the house needs to be replaced. However, our batteries for the school and solar panels are okay. What we need right now in an inverter/charger to get our school back online with solar. That will cost us about 1500.00 to do.

For the house because of the expense of batteries at this time we need a generator for the power black outs. We can get one here, on island, 4000 watts for 699.00. At some time in the future we will look at getting our alternate power back online. For the church we need to replace our sound board and need a small sound setup for our children's department. They get them here on island but very expensive, double to triple the cost of stateside. It is cheaper for us to purchase there and ship here. We are looking at a 10 channel sound board/500 watt amplifier for less than 200.00 and also we need to find a small 100 to 200 watt system for our childrens department. If you would like to help out in any of these areas please contact us.

Finally, agree with us for a new bus. Our chariot has been on the road for almost 7 years. Here in the islands most vechicles last 4 to 5 years this one has made it almost 7, praise The Lord. We thank God for provision in this season. Have you wondered why we have not posted lately? Well, both of our main computers went down at the same time. But, praise God, replacements are on the way. We thank God for His provision.

We want to thank all of you who pray and faithfully support our ministry here in the islands. If you would like to help out in any of these areas please contact us at rikakisteve@gmail.com

God bless,
